Download the sanitized V1.0.2 legacy reference schematic; get the USB-to-serial driver from the chip manufacturer.
The connected board enumerated as VID_1A86/PID_7523, associated with WCH CH340. If Windows does not create a COM port automatically, get the CH341SER driver from WCH. This site does not mirror the installer.
Connect the board and check Device Manager and Windows Update first; use the WCH page above if no COM port appears.
